Heterosexual Marriages versus Same-Sex Ones

Although marriage is quiet complicated topic to write and discuss, same-sex marriage is another part of it that is controversial. We covered this week the definition of marriage, marriages' relations to politicians whim and finally and most importantly we tried to find an answer whether or not same-sex marriages are justifiable.
In my opinion, it is completely related to the norms of society which are shaped by customs and rituals. Today , same-sex marriage is illegal for the majority of the world. However, gay and lesbian relationships are accepted and tolerated. Cohabition rather than getting married is the best chance that homosexuals have. In my point of view, homosexuals have no difference compared to heterosexuals. They all act like ordinary people, have jobs, family etc. Therefore, I should say we must not ignore homosexuals, respect their choices and. However, I am defeated by culture. I want to ask this question: Which of you do not feel uncomfortable when you see a gay couple kissing in public?

By the way, I did some research on Internet and unsurprisingly, I found out that some countries which legislated same-sex marriage are Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Belgium, Spain and Canada.

Finally, this video summarizes briefly our culture's view to same-sex marriages :)
